Bringing the Hiroshima AI Process into Practice — HAAC and AI Assurance Jointly Author the Hiroshima AI Process: Private-Sector White Paper 2026

The Hiroshima AI Assurance Council (HAAC) and AI Assurance, Inc. have jointly authored and edited the Hiroshima AI Process: Private-Sector White Paper 2026, now available in Japanese and English.
The white paper reviews the international progress of the Hiroshima AI Process, initiated following the 2023 G7 Hiroshima Summit, and presents policy and industry recommendations for translating its outcomes into practical applications across businesses, industries, and society.
From International Principles to Practical Infrastructure for Trust
The Hiroshima AI Process has advanced international cooperation on AI safety and trustworthiness.
This white paper explores how those achievements can extend beyond international principles and reporting frameworks to support business procurement, contractual arrangements, operational decisions, and cross-industry collaboration.
In particular, it emphasizes the importance of establishing mechanisms through which stakeholders can verify the conditions under which AI may be used and the evidence supporting those decisions.
The publication presents five key recommendations: linking AI governance claims with verifiable evidence, reducing duplicated assessments, connecting industry-specific demonstrations with procurement and contracts, strengthening third-party verification, and enabling broader participation by small and medium-sized enterprises.
Advancing AI Governance Implementation from Hiroshima
HAAC aims to translate the principles of the Hiroshima AI Process into practical implementation through private-sector cooperation.
This jointly authored white paper represents a step toward that objective, providing policy and industry perspectives on building trustworthy AI infrastructure.
Moving forward, HAAC will continue fostering collaboration with businesses and relevant organizations in Hiroshima, connecting AI governance with practical challenges in manufacturing, logistics, local government, and other sectors.
Through these initiatives, we aim to share lessons from implementation with stakeholders in Japan and internationally.
From international cooperation to practical infrastructure for trust across businesses, industries, and society.
HAAC remains committed to advancing private-sector collaboration toward this vision.
